Sedgman Onyx was engaged by Rio Tinto to improve the reliability and spillage issues of the Parker Point Sample Station. The sample station at Parker Point collects iron ore samples being exported for laboratory analysis.

Scope
Sedgman Onyx completed a site investigation and initial study identifying the cause of the issues and recommended upgrades to improve the reliability of the plant. We then carried out muti-disciplinary detailed design engineering, procurement support and installation management of the recommended improvements.
Outcome
The design was developed to be installed with multiple short shutdowns to prevent any impact to operations. The engineering and construction team worked together to provide an improved conveying system with improved reliability. Despite the site constraints, work was completed with no lost time injuries, on budget and on schedule.
