Scope
Stage one: 10Mtpa feed process plant and infrastructure.
- Detail design, construction and operations support for a wet and dry processing facility and associated infrastructure.
Stage two: 60Mtpa feed Iron Bridge plant, including development of the initial 5t/h feed pilot plant.
- Development of a test work programme.
- Definitive feasibility study (DFS) from mine to port as part of an integrated development team.
- Detail design of a small pilot plant. The results from the constructed pilot plant were integrated into the DFS.
- Detail design of the early enabling earthworks, a separate scope within the main project to enable subsequent project phases.
- Owners engineer for the process plant and infrastructure including project financial approvals and independent reviews.
- Secondment of personnel into Fortescue for project engineering, construction and commissioning support.
Outcome
Sedgman Onyx successfully led the integrated and nimble engineering team through the various phases of study and rigorous evaluation ultimately achieving project approval.
Sedgman Onyx personnel played a key role in the execution of this technically challenging project to meet a short delivery schedule.
