Scope
Sedgman Onyx’s scope for the project is associated with detailed engineering and design of multiple transfer stations, transfer chutes (including discrete element modelling (DEM) simulation), conveyors, stackers and sampling equipment. This work is carried out as part of Sedgman CPB Joint Venture (SCJV) which has a strong workforce based in the Pilbara region already. Together Sedgman and Sedgman Onyx have a long track record of successfully delivering major projects for BHP and in Western Australia with Sedgman Onyx having a specific focus on iron ore materials handling.
Outcome
The SCJV design team reviewed and proposed a new and improved design during the tendering period, leading to the award for the design and construct contract.
